The Next Generation Energy Performance Certificates (Next Gen EPCs) cluster of related projects funded by the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe research and innovation programmes now gathers 13 projects that started their activities in 4 consecutive years:
- 2019: QualDeEPC, U-CERT, X-tendo
- 2020: D^2EPC, E-DYCE, ePANACEA, EPC RECAST
- 2021: crossCert, EUB Super Hub, iBRoad2EPC, TIMEPAC
- 2022: CHRONICLE, SmartLivingEPC
The main objective of the Next Gen EPC Cluster can be summarised as “going farther together rather than going fast alone”, maximising quality, relevance, utility, convergence and effectiveness, while avoiding reinventing the wheel. This approach empowers decision makers at both EU and Member State levels and the overall Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) stakeholder community. The intention is to swiftly leverage the results emerging from the family of projects for the continuous EPBD transposition, implementation and monitoring process, and for meaningfully weaving together proposed policy instruments.
The Next Gen EPCs Cluster has organised and participated in many common communication and dissemination activities. The latest is the presentation of several of the projects in the autumn edition of European Energy Innovation magazine. Read about ePANACEA on page 31.
